Best Reality TV Shows To Binge-Watch During This MCO

The announcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) by the government in May 2021 signified that all Malaysians will have to stay at home in order to flatten the curve. In fact, our Prime Minister declared that MCO 3.0 would be further extended, and that it would only be lifted if the daily infection cases remain below 4,000.

An extension of the MCO has caused many Malaysians to feel restless and bored at home. So, what better way to spend the free time on our hands than to binge-watch some reality TV shows on Netflix?

Here are three reality TV shows that will keep you occupied during this MCO:

Too Hot To Handle

This show is hosted by a virtual assistant called Lana, who placed 10 single and attractive adults in a villa together for four weeks. Bear in mind that these adults have never had long-lasting relationships and constantly engaged themselves in meaningless flings.

Upon entering the show, the cast assumed that they would be having the time of their lives with the other attractive singles. Little did they know that they were going to be put in a whole different situation.

These adults must refrain from any sexual activities and instead, try to build an emotional connection with the other adults in the villa, in order to win a grand prize of $100,000.

This show consists of 2 seasons, and the 2nd season aired just a few weeks ago on Netflix.

The journey of the cast is definitely too hot to handle (see what I did there?) because of all the drama that goes on in the villa. Be sure to binge-watch it soon to avoid season 2 spoilers!

My personal rating of the show: 8.5/10

The Circle

The Circle is a competition whereby players will have to gain the trust of other players in the show to avoid getting eliminated. The best part of this show? It is all about strategy.

Players get to choose to play as either themselves or someone else. This means that they can ‘catfish’ their way through the show, as all that matters is winning the $100,000 cash prize.

This show will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat, to discover who ultimately wins and how the winner played his/her cards right in order to become the champion of The Circle.

The Circle first launched in the United Kingdom, and has now expanded its franchise to the United States, Brazil and France. The Circle USA, France and Brazil are available on Netflix, so remember to check out all the franchises during this MCO!

My personal rating of the show: 9/10

Love is Blind

Love is Blind is a social experiment whereby singles attempt to find themselves a partner. Sounds simple, right? However, there is a big twist to this show.

These adults will have to date without seeing each other face-to-face. Hence, they have to find their match purely based on emotional connections that they have made.

Oh, did I mention that there was a big twist already? Well, here’s an even bigger twist. After emotionally connecting with their match, they will be able to see their partner in real life, but they will have to get engaged as soon as they meet their match.

Sounds crazy, right? It gets more intense though. These couples will have to decide if they would like to marry their respective partners by the end of the show.

Will they go through with the wedding, or leave their partner heartbroken at the altar? Watch the show to find out!

My personal rating of the show: 8/10

Final Thoughts:

These three reality TV shows are my personal favourites because of how entertaining and dramatic they can get. If you have not watched any of these shows yet, be sure to check it out and start your Netflix marathon now!
